Kate Winslet to team with James Cameron for "Avatar" sequels

Kate Winslet to team with James Cameron for

Now Kate Winslet has signed on for a starring role in the ongoing Avatar adventure at Fox. I look forward to seeing him play the character of Ronal.

Avatar 2 started filming last week in California is now slated for release date of December 18, 2020.

The first film will be released on December 18, 2020. In preemptively making so many Avatar sequels, Cameron himself is banking on successes that are more or less unpredictable.

The sequels are being produced by Cameron and Jon Landau through Lightstorm Entertainment company. Cliff Curtis and Oona Chaplin are also amongst the cast, whilst Stephen Lang will return as Colonel Miles Quaritch as the movies' main villain. Eventually they wage a war against the increasingly hostile humans, save the day and then Jake decides to stay with the Na'vi permanently.

However, both the actors have been friends since they worked together in "Titanic" and shares a good bond.

The original Avatar was released back in 2009 and grossed over $760 million domestically and more than $2.7 billion worldwide. However, there is definitely an amalgamation of old and new in Cameron re-teaming with Titanic star Kate Winslet for the Avatar franchise.

Of course, the net positive to emerge from Winslet's work on Titanic was her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio, with whom she appeared again in Revolutionary Road in 2008. The 63-year-old was later nominated again for Avatar, but the sci-fi film didn't claim almost as many wins (just three, for cinematography, art direction and visual effects).

James Cameron's Avatar broke box office records set more than a decade earlier by his Titanic.
