Jack Wilshere: 'I want to stay at Arsenal'

Jack Wilshere believes he is "back" and is setting his sights on earning an extension to his Arsenal contract.

He is taking on that challenge in the knowledge that he has less than a year left to run on his current deal at Emirates Stadium, with it possible that he could be released in 2018.

Speaking on Giroud reaching 100 goals in red and white, Ramsey said: "He's a fantastic player with many qualities. I am doing everything I can to stay fit, training well, we will seem" he said.

"Do I see myself staying? Of course I do", he is quoted as saying by the Guardian. I love this club. They have been good to me over the years.

"It has been quite a while since I felt like a proper Arsenal player, but I definitely feel I am back". He has put his trust in me since then. "We have a great understanding and of course I want to stay", Wilshere added.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has insisted that he is keen to remain with the Gunners after being reintroduced to first-team action following a season out on loan last season and recovering from another frustrating injury setback.

Arsenal have won their two opening Europa League games and travel to Serbia to take on Red Star Belgrade next.

"But now I am back training, back in the squad, I'm playing these types of games, so I feel good". Me and the boss have a great relationship.

"People say it's a long road but it was four months and I have had longer than that before".

"That was unfortunate timing but throughout my rehab it went well". Now Olly can play with freedom again and hopefully rediscover the form that made him such a vital part of our side last season, even if it was often from the subs bench that he did the damage.

Thursday's game in Belarus was only Wilshere's second full 90 minutes for Arsenal in three years and he expects to be back on the bench against Brighton tomorrow.
