Several Palestinians Injured After Israeli Airstrike in Gaza

Israel and Islamists Hamas, who run Gaza, have fought three wars since 2008.

According to the IDF, the rocket was launched from Gaza and landed in an open area, causing no injuries or damage.

Israeli forces' retaliatory air attacks on Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip wounded at least four Palestinians, local al-Shifa hospital's Emergency Director Ayman al Sahbani said Wednesday. The projectile fell on open ground in the regional Council Hof Ashkelon.

Videos and photos of the Israeli rockets striking gaza were widely circulated on social media, with many having been woken by the sound of the explosion.

COGAT, the Israeli agency that oversees civilian affairs in the occupied Palestinian territories, said it would allow in small numbers of businesspeople from annexed east Jerusalem looking to invest in the coastal territory.

Earlier on Tuesday night, Israeli media said that a rocket was sacked from the Gaza Strip.

"The occupation claims that a group from Gaza launched rockets at them, but there is no side in Gaza that has claimed responsibility".

A military spokesperson said in a statement that the strikes were carried out in retaliation for a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave toward Israel on Tuesday night.
