Of Course, one person can't have more than one PAN Card. Therefore, it becomes even more important to check the status of the PAN and link it with the Aadhaar card within the stipulated time. But the Aadhaar-PAN linking revealed some shocking facts.

Just a few days ago, the government had also made it mandatory to link the PAN details with one's Aadhar card number, failing which they would not be able to file their Income Tax Returns.

Income tax Department Deactivated 11 Lakh PAN: Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar in a written reply informed the Rajya Sabha that as on July 27, 11,44,211 PANs have been identified and deleted or de-activated in cases where multiple PANs were found allotted to one person. As per the government norms it is not legal to have multiple PAN accounts for an Individual and also the fake accounts are deactivated.

But all this news created a confusion among the PAN Card holders.

The next page needs to be filled with personal details like name, status, hindu undivided family, etc. You should enter OTP and Click on "Validate" button available there. It says that you had the multiple records and asked to supply the additional data.

Now you will direct to next page, and you need to provide information such as your name, status, date of birth and mobile number.

In case your details on the PAN card have not been replicated or been issued to some other person, the final page will show your PAN card details with the tag 'Active' below.
