Hyderabad drug racket: Ravi Teja appears before SIT

While actor Ravi Teja will be questioned this week, SIT was unable to locate the whereabouts of dancer Mumaith Khan.

Film actor Ravi Teja has appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Excise Department on Friday morning in connection with the ongoing investigation into the drug racket.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is ready to attend the questioning session, and apparently, he is said to have in talks with his advocate over this questioning session.

During the investigation of the drug racket that was busted here on July 2, names of some members of the Telugu film industry cropped up, the SIT had said earlier. The actor is reportedly being posed a lot of questions ranging from about drug abuse by his friends in Tollywood to his alleged connections with drug dealers. The SIT sleuths yesterday conducted raids in different parts of the city. After the investigations revealed that drugs were bought easily from online hidden websites, the state government via the consulate has asked America to shut down servers aiding the darket. The SIT of the Prohibition and Excise Department on Saturday took two drug peddlers - Zeeshan Ali and Noah William - into their custody after taking permission from the court and thoroughly questioned them. Teja has acted in several movies directed by Puri Jagannadh, who was the first person from the film industry to be questioned recently.

The actor did not give his body fluid, hair and nail samples. They also wanted to know why she had to go for shooting to foreign locations while she was an item girl.

Ms Khan is the eight person from the Telugu film industry to appear before the SIT.

SIT also denied reports in a section of media about alleged misbehaviour of a constable with Charmme when she arrived at SIT office for questioning on Wednesday.
