- Liverpool have won each of their last four opening day Premier League matches, after failing to win any of the previous four.

Following Tottenham vs Chelsea, the next big heavyweight contest of the campaign comes before the first global break on 26 August when Liverpool take on Arsenal.

The fact Arsenal are in the Europa League has affected them along with the doubts over Alexis Sanchez remaining at the club, with their odds post fixture reveal going as wide as 11-1, with five out of six matches following Europa League games coming away from the Emirates. The Gunners will conclude their festive football season with a home game against Chelsea.

Champions Chelsea will open the defence of their league title at home when they host Burnley on the first day of the new season.

- United are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League home games with West Ham (W7 D2 L0) - their last league defeat against the Hammers at Old Trafford was in 2007.

United's first meeting with Liverpool, always one of the highlights of the season, will be at Anfield on October 14. Sandwiched between the Champions League Round of 16 legs, Chelsea have back-to-back away matches against the Manchester clubs.

In comparison to last season, Tottenham's Premier League fixture list after competing in Europe is much kinder this time around.

No conclusion has yet been reached on what will happen, even though it is understood the Premier League were aware of the issue before the fixtures were officially published.

During the 2016/17 campaign, Tottenham hosted Sunderland and Manchester City after European matches and visited Bournemouth, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

"We have three mouth-watering games at home against Arsenal, United and Chelsea, which we will be right up for, and hopefully we will be able to make a real statement of intent in those matches".

The weekend of December 9/10 sees Liverpool host Everton and City visit United in the first Manchester derby of the season.

Liverpool and Manchester City will travel to Watford and Brighton, respectively. They struggled there in Europe last season and lost 4-2 to Chelsea there in the FA semi-final earlier this year.

West Ham faces playing its first three games away from its home at the London Stadium - the centerpiece of the 2012 Olympics - because the venue will be hosting the world athletics championship from August 4-13.
