Verizon brings Nougat to Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 5

As such, it may take time before all Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ users on Verizon actually receive the new Nougat treat.

According to a Reddit thread started by a user named chedderb0b, Bell has started rolling out the Nougat update to its Galaxy Note 5 users, and judging by another comment left on the thread, SaskTel Galaxy Note 5 users might also be receiving the update.

This is verified by many Galaxy Note 5 users who expressed their joy on Reddit threads when they saw that the Android 7.0 update had hit their device.

Samsung still has a long way more to go before they are with the Nougat update for their device. This would make it the latest Galaxy Note device to be supported, which is no surprise taking into consideration how the Galaxy Note 7 had a fiery issue that caused it to be pulled out from the market.

For Galaxy S6 edge+, not only do you get the usual Nougat enhancements, like better multi-tasking options, replying within notifications, improved battery management, and Data Saver working as it should be. Verizon claims that the Android 7.0 Nougat update for their Galaxy Note 5 will reinvigorate the phablet, giving it a new lease of life thanks to additional software features such as the newest Air command that allows the user to create GIFs while obtaining instant translations thanks to the S Pen.

Are you a Galaxy Note 5 user on Bell or SaskTel? The carrier has already updated the official pages for the two phones, confirming that the update is indeed rolling out. The 2015 HTC flagship is now getting an update.

AT&T's changelog for the Galaxy S6 edge+ has been updated with build number NRD90M at 1.51GB.

Sprint has also released the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update for the Sprint HTC One M9.
