Xiaomi Mi 6 to feature Snapdragon 835 SoC

There are speculations that Xiaomi's upcoming handset has all the tools to come out on top once it becomes available in the tight smartphone market.

Gordon cited a study done earlier this year by the Chinese market research firm Sino-MR that found 60 percent of smartphone buyers take fast-charging capabilities into account when shopping for their next devices. Details about Qualcomm's latest processors, the Snapdragon 835 and 660, have leaked online, including its planned phone list. Here are some things we know about the Xioami Mi 6. That will make the phone the first Chinese smartphone with the most powerful chipset. The same chipset architecture is said to arrive in Samsung's Galaxy S8 too. But they are neither dismissing nor stating the premise as true.

The Snapdragon 835 will have eight cores and will integrate the new Adreno 540 GPU for graphics. But representatives from Oppo quickly debunked that theory.

Sources spoken to recently by The Investor have hinted that Samsung's new flagship offering may come with a pressure-sensitive display.

The company is rumored to push back the release, unveiling the Galaxy S8 in April instead during MWC (Mobile World Congress) in February, like it did during previous years. And while there are no statements from Xiaomi regarding the Mi 6 flagship device, the date is probably right.

The information present in the leak, however, seems questionable, as inconsistencies between the lower-end Snapdragon 660 and the 835's specifications are present. Just for comparison, many OEMs are relying on 14nm technology.

This technology is capable of accurately identifying the amount of power that the battery can take at specific moments so that the charging process can consistently funnel enormous amounts of energy without overheating the battery. On a practical point of view, users will notice better performances and less power consumption. The company didn't state which chipset they compared the Snapdragon 835 to.

This year's Samsung Galaxy S7 includes a Snapdragon 820, but some regional variants also feature an Exynos 8890.

The partnership of Samsung and Qualcomm resulted in the most anticipated processor, the Snapdragon 835. The latest technology delivers 20% faster charging. Apart from that, it will support the Quick Charge 4.0 which promises five or more hours of run time with simply five minutes of charging.

The company tested the Snapdragon 835 with a 2,750 mAh battery, which is close to the standard and average battery for flagships. The bezel-less screen which can be seen in Xiaomi MI Mix was a hit.
