Will Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them be on Netflix?

While Fantastic Beasts definitely stands separate to the Harry Potter franchise, the movie still packed full of awesome Easter Eggs and references which tie to both that and the larger Wizarding World in what looks set to be a big new franchise. Right from the get-go, Rowling's screenplay indulges in some fabulous world-building which will see the success of what will inevitably become a whole new franchise.

J. K. Rowling has created a new world in her best-selling Harry Potter universe - that of 1920s NY, where No-Majs (American parlance for HP's "muggles") live unwittingly alongside witches and wizards who are, as is the common trope now in all fantasy/super-hero stories, in danger of being outlawed should their magic disturb the human population. The zoo representatives will show off their "Fantastic Beasts", but those fans coming out can also get sorted by the Sorting Hat, get photos taken in Hogwarts robes, buy Dragon eggs and more from special vendors, participate in a costume contest and trivia for prizes and more.

Sounds like it's time for yet another re-read of the Harry Potter books... Obscura usually kill their host before they reach the age of ten, and they only grow more powerful the older the host is.

So what's the connection to Deathly Hallows?

That made the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them announcement particularly surprising, though some initially wrote it off as a shameless cash grab by the studio. It's revealed in The Deathly Hallows that Albus' sister Ariana's powers, "turned inward and drove her mad" and "exploded out of her when she couldn't control it". "It turned inward and drove her mad, it exploded out of her when she couldn't control it and at times she was unusual and risky".

So that could be where Grindelwald first learned about the obscurus, and how he knows so much about it when he is investigating it in the United States as Percival Graves.
